Rohozná · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Devil’s Little Castle

North of Rohozná rises Čertův hrádek Hill (714 m), with jagged rocks resembling castle ruins. Legend says the Devil once intended to build his own castle here, carrying stones from a rocky hill near Batelov. But a rooster’s crow interrupted him, leaving only the stones scattered from Batelov to Hrádek as evidence of his labour. Another version says he had to finish before the priest completed Mass in the church at Dolní Cerekev. (See Batelov.)
