St James’s Church in the Old Town holds an image of the Virgin Mary believed by legend to work miracles. Numerous processions once came to it. Collective visions of devils were recorded during them; people fought the devils fiercely until they collapsed from exhaustion. The visions disappeared with the suppression of the Jesuit order.
