Ghostly Dogs

At night, a ghostly black dog with a glowing chain runs down from St Martin’s Chapel towards the gate. It disappears at the corner of the bastion where the Jerusalem Gate is walled up, still visible from outside in the corner above Přemyslovka. From this blocked gate, a black dog in the form of a great rolling disc descends at night all the way to the road. A terrifying black dog with fiery eyes also appears at the former canon’s residence, U Fastrů, on the slope. It guards a treasure there. At midnight it prowls around and finally vanishes into the hillside. A fiery, headless dog has also been seen at Vyšehrad. It appears together with a hellish carriage drawn by headless horses, with a headless coachman on the box. The apparition races along the Vyšehrad ramparts.
