On the road from the city centre to Skvrňany, the spirit of a certain pagan nobleman used to haunt travellers. When anyone walked there at night, he called: “Hey, hey, where are you going?” If the traveller answered disrespectfully, he began dancing fearsomely around them until he led them off the road. He had fiery eyes, hair falling in small braids to his shoulders, claws on his hands and hooves for feet. The place came to be called Hejkalka, later corrupted into Jíkalka.
