Brandýs nad Labem also had its fext, an indestructible person. While foundations were being dug during the expansion of the château under Emperor Rudolf II, a completely intact corpse was unearthed, to the great astonishment of the scholars at his court. According to their testimony, it “gave off a delightful fragrance”. It probably entered Rudolf’s collections, but every further trace of it disappears.
