After his stays at the imperial court in Prague and in Rovensko pod Troskami, the well-known Bohemian alchemist Šimon Tadeáš Budek of Falkenberg served here as a Protestant pastor. He allegedly still found time for alchemical experiments and visited neighbouring noblemen sympathetic to the practice.
