A Mining Legend

Near Neštětická hora rises wooded Chlum hill. Beneath the saddle between them allegedly lies the body of a golden horse, with its head hidden in Neštětická hora and its tail in Chlum. Miners called to excavate it had almost uncovered the whole animal when one swore. The golden creature sank to twice its former depth. Neštětická hora also has the so-called Kuba’s Pit, a remnant of gold mining.
