At the beginning of the 17th century, Odolen the Elder Pětipeský of Chýše and Egerberk held the local fortress. He also owned Blahotice, Byseň, Studeněves and Kvílice. Legend says he practised alchemy, investing much of his wealth in it. One day Trochopeus, Sendivogius’s impoverished pupil from Louny, arrived and persuaded him to abandon alchemy. He then allegedly had a bell cast in Kvílice from an alchemical alloy.
