An old meteoritic stone, drawn from the castle well in 1775, is displayed here. It was said to be one of the local burgraves, turned to stone for his evil deeds. One version identifies him as Gerhard von Wüstenfels, who had the bodies of executed people dipped into thermal spring water and, once encrusted with its mineral deposits, hung them outside the castle as a warning. Today the people of Loket have only part of their “burgrave”, as pieces were distributed among museums. Prague’s National Museum also has a share.
