On windy nights terrifying wails and sighs can be heard at the castle. They come from the spirit of Lord Vilém of Landštejn, whose cruelty prevented him from finding peace in the grave. The ghost of a White Lady with a flowing veil also sometimes appears on the road below the castle. She is said to be the spirit of Markéta, the castle lady, lamenting her fate.
