Kraslice · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The magical miner's lamp

A cave on Kamenáč hill (835 m) supposedly holds a great treasure. It opens only on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, and only to someone born on Sunday and rocked in a cradle made from wood grown on this hill. Such a person must tap the rock with a willow twig bearing catkins. An ancient miner's lamp hangs at the back. Whoever takes it must touch no other treasure or the entrance will slam shut. The lamp has magical power to reveal every treasure hidden underground to its owner.
