Legends of the golden horse hidden inside the mountain centre on two symbolic figures: Iron Hand and Golden Hair. In one, Iron Hand serves the widow of the local knight Kotajz, and Golden Hair is his sweetheart. These symbols had to unite in legend and in life to find the mountain's treasure. The couple entered and received gifts: he chose a golden staff, she a golden rose. Meanwhile the wicked widow made false symbols, a golden wig and an iron glove, and later rode into the mountain wearing them. Greedy for treasure, she failed to notice her horse stiffening and turning to gold. At the last moment, as the rock closed, she escaped without treasure. The hill has since been called Zlatý kůň, Golden Horse, and its caves hold the famous sinter formations called Koněprusy roses.
