Jičín · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The white maiden with barrels

East of Jičín, beyond Studeňany, a small chapel stands alone by the road to Radim. At night it supposedly opens and a white maiden appears, deftly rolling three white barrels along the road with her feet. Meeting her is said to be dangerous: she knocks a person down and rides them until they die.
