Jankov · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The weeping ghost on Goat Stone

A forest path also leads from Jankov to Křemže through the extensive Švehlán woodland. Here stands a great rock called Kozí kámen, Goat Stone, supposedly the remains of a robber knight's castle. He was killed, and on All Souls' Day his soul wanders over the ruins, weeping mournfully. From afar the sound resembles a goat bleating between sobs, which gave the place its name.
