During the Thirty Years' War Swedish soldiers supposedly used this painting as a card-playing surface. One angrily stabbed it with a dagger, and the image began to bleed. It was later moved to the church, where people sometimes witnessed strange changes in it. Three stars or a hand with raised fingers appeared; others saw it shed tears, and changes in the expression of the holy figure's face were also observed. Great pilgrimages came to the miraculous image every year.
