Chrudim · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

A shadow pointing to treasure

The church of the Virgin Mary's Ascension once held twelve life-sized silver statues of the apostles with golden eyes. In the early 15th century the townspeople had the treasure buried where the shadow of the tall church tower fell at three in the afternoon on a certain day. But fires and wars also struck Chrudim, and the tower collapsed, so nobody now knows where the treasure actually lies.
