Near the Hranice Abyss, whose depth was provisionally recorded as 244 m in the source, appears the ghost of a cursed knight searching for his vanished castle. He was supposedly a robber, and his seat stood where the abyss now lies. One day his castle sank into the ground. The knight's ghost on a fiery horse still wanders there on Christmas nights. On Christmas Eve, the sound of a bell from the buried castle is said to rise from the depths.
