The Devil’s Castles

In nearby woods above the railway towards Bílá Třemešná, sandstone boulders visible from afar are called the Devil’s Castles. St Ivan supposedly had a hermitage nearby after leaving Loděnice. Devils disturbed his prayers. He could not overcome them because they hid in their mighty castles. Eventually he managed to drive them from their dens and out of the region.
