The Miraculous Spring of St Günther

Many legends concern the chapel of St Vintíř, or Günther, and its spring. The dean of Sušice, K. F. Rosacinus, collected and recorded them as early as the seventeenth century. A wonder-working image of St Günther hangs in the chapel. Though moved elsewhere several times, it always inexplicably returned overnight. The spring beside the chapel has long been called Dobrá voda, Good Water, as at many other places, and numerous miraculous effects on the sick are recounted. The settlement took its name from it.
