On the right bank of the Elbe, north above the town, rises the viewpoint hill Kvádrovec, or Stoličný vrch, a focus of many old myths and legends. A White Lady’s ghost supposedly appears here. Kvádrovec is said once to have housed giants and dwarfs and to conceal a treasure. Sprites supposedly also lived in Bechlejovice, and a Dwarfs’ Cave was pointed out on the way to Chlum. Another of their caves lay in the Loubí suburb, in the woods about halfway along the walking route to Kvádrovec. It was so small that barely one person could fit inside. A sprites’ palace was also said to be inside Zvonový kámen near Klobouk hill, where the sprites guard hidden bells.
