Processions of spirits carrying little lights were once seen here at night. Because some citizens of Žatec had harmed them, they supposedly planned to attack the town. The night watchman saved Žatec by releasing them from their enchantment so they could return to eternal sleep in the cemetery. In gratitude, the townspeople erected a monument to watchman Borš beside the fountain.
