Margita and Besná

These are the names of two rocks near the castle. They inspire fear because they supposedly house the spirits of two women who died in the Váh and have found no peace. A young widow of Strečno Castle is said first to have pushed her rival in love, Margita, into the water, then to have jumped into the Váh herself from the rock called Besná.
