A Legend of the Oldest Wooden Church

According to legend, the oldest surviving wooden church in the Czech lands, Our Lady under the Lime Trees, dating from 1449, was founded by a pagan maiden. As a sign of her complete renunciation of paganism, she wove a wreath intertwined with her own hair, which was displayed here until recently. People said that anyone who picked it up mockingly or tore anything from it would soon see a ghost in an unpredictable form and be mercilessly punished.
