On Lísek Hill above the town stands a rock known as the Sacrificial Site. It is a flat boulder measuring 6 by 8 metres and rising about a metre above its surroundings. A second, triangular stone rests in its centre like a monument. Pagan ceremonies supposedly took place here. On the same hill is a spring of healing water once credited with miraculous powers. For this reason, a chapel of St Catherine with a hermitage, baths and a small church were built here. Famous pilgrimages came to the site. Bloody marks in the shape of a cross reportedly once appeared on the church threshold.
