Karlovy Vary · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The devil's calling card

The inhabitants of ancient Obora, a village on the site of the present town, once struggled with the devil for the right to build a church. They eventually succeeded. In fury the devil stamped on a nearby rock until he left his hoofprints. This Devil's Rock lies on the slope about 200 metres south of the so-called Schopenhauer's Place.
