Images of heretics

In the château's most precious part, the Thun family chapel dedicated to St Romedius, stucco sculptures depict prominent heresiarchs: Simon Magus, Arius, Mani, Nestorius, Hus, Jerome of Prague, Luther and Calvin. The chapel's conceptual programme was devised by František Kryštof of Talmberk, who also consecrated the Assumption chapel at Kuks in 1693. A. Nuvolone was the actual maker of these and many other statues.
