Many legends concern the castle ruins and the whole mountain. A pagan sacrificial site supposedly once stood here; later a powerful witch lived here. Another legend says that on the slopes a magic rose can be found, but only once every seven times seven years. Its flower can lift the curse on the castle and on Doubravka, the pagan priest’s daughter after whom the mountain was supposedly named.
