This is the name of a spring west of Všeruby. St Adalbert once sent clouds of locusts into the village as punishment for abandoning Christianity. A second plague followed: hordes of frogs. When the desperate villagers promised to remain in the Christian faith, he lifted the curse. A great number of snakes poured out of the spring and destroyed the frogs. The spring received its name from them and retains it today. Above the main entrance to the parish Church of the Holy Spirit, dating from 1384, snakes and other reptiles were carved in remembrance.
