Vyžlata are evil apparitions in the form of small wild dogs. They appear beside wild women and regularly take part in the Wild Hunt. The book explicitly warns that they can maul or carry off a person sleeping in the forest.

Where it appears

Forest legends, especially in the Kłodzko region and the traditions of the Wild Hunt.

What the old legends say

As the vyžlata accompany the Wild Hunt, similar rules apply: do not fall asleep in the forest at night, do not approach the ghostly procession and, if it draws near, hide or stay low to the ground. The animals were not to be provoked or driven away.
